About the role:
A SIL Coordinator at WCSS, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of multiple locations/residences. You will play a crucial role in promoting a person-centered approach and ensuring the provision of high-quality services to our participants. In addition to managing the daily operations, you will also be responsible for coordinating support and implementing individual NDIS plans to help participants achieve their goals. You will establish positive collaborative relationships with participants within their community and mainstream support to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Manage a team of staff members in a group home setting, overseeing the care of participants with complex behavioural needs.
Implement individualized behaviour support plans for residents, incorporating their goals, strengths, and needs.
Conduct regular staff training to key workers and support workers.
Collaborate with families, support workers and the Service Delivery Manager to ensure we are providing the care required for participants.
Monitor and document participants progress, ensuring compliance.
Maintain accurate and complete resident records, including medical and behavioural information.
Respond to crisis situations, providing support and guidance to staff and residents.
Leading and modeling effective person-centered practices, including working individually with participants, planning and delivering work per care plans, providing support to families and carers, and working with local service providers.
Providing effective onboarding, site orientation, and training to new support workers, supporting their engagement and learning.
Coordinating on-site support and reviewing incidents and complaints.
Key Skills:
Leadership & Team Management – Ability to lead, mentor, and support a team of support workers.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills – Strong verbal and written communication to liaise with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Problem-Solving & Decision-Making – Quick thinking to resolve challenges and ensure quality care.
Organizational & Time Management – Ability to manage rosters, documentation, and day-to-day operations effectively.
Knowledge of Disability & NDIS Standards – Understanding of Supported Independent Living frameworks and compliance requirements.
Empathy & Person-Centered Approach – Commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals.
