Your Role
The Cancer Health Promotion Officer will be responsible for creating awareness and deliver education to community members to encourage positive behaviour change by planning, developing and delivering health promotion activities using a variety of resources and strategies. These programs and resources will be co-designed, locally relevant and culturally safe and responsive with the intention of increasing the adoption of health promoting behaviours and screening participation in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
· Deliver cancer screening awareness campaigns
· Host holistic cancer screening events
· Develop cancer-specific health promotional materials
· Promote cancer awareness days, weeks, and months in the community
· Build partnerships with mainstream cancer services and organisations
· Improve patient management systems functionalities for cancer data recording and enhance continuous quality improvement activities
· Promote allied health services and effective risk management.
Key Selection Criteria
Encourage positive behaviour change in community members by planning, developing and delivering health promotion activities using a variety of resources and strategies
Foster and maintain relationships with other agencies to benefit clients and the organisation.
Experienced working independently under broad direction to plan activities and set priorities that achieve objectives and meet deadlines, often in a context of conflicting priorities.
Work towards reducing population health inequities and enhancing community well-being, through the planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-informed health promotion activities..
Create communication campaigns and promotional materials that encourage participation in cancer screenings
Qualification/s:
3 years of experience in visual design and/or graphic design Developing resources
Other Screening Requirements:
Valid Drivers License that allows you to drive in Australia.
Victorian Employee Working with Children Check card.
National Police Check.
