About the role:
As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll play a key role in mentoring new staff, supporting client onboarding, and ensuring high-quality, person-centred care. You’ll work closely with coordinators and provide short-term cover for client services when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor and support new community workers during their first 3 months.
- Assist with client onboarding and care planning.
- Conduct home safety assessments and support documentation.
- Respond to client feedback and help resolve care issues.
- Deliver direct support services as required.
- Promote safety and continuous improvement across the team.
- Communicate effectively with the stakeholders
- Undertake Support Worker duties (and client visits) as required.
Essential Criteria:
- Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, or similar.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Support Worker.
- Strong mentoring and communication skills.
- Understanding of Aged Care Standards.
- Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle.
- National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
- Willingness to undertake required training both to maintain required competencies and to develop additional skills to enhance service delivery;
- Physical fitness, ability to pass a medical evaluation;
Desirable Criteria:
Previous relevant experience in the health/aged/disability sector is highly desirable;
