Pay Rate: Up to $70 an hour

About the Opportunity

A fantastic 12-month contract has just opened up for an experienced and motivated Senior Strategic Planner to join a highly regarded council in Sydney. This LGA features a diverse mix of residential, commercial, industrial, retail and rural land, offering plenty of variety and scope for planning work.

The Role

In this position, you'll be part of a high-performing planning team, contributing to key strategic projects and helping shape the future of the area. You'll also be part of a positive and collaborative team culture and have the chance to work on some truly impactful initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the preparation of planning proposals and contributing to the review of development control plans, in collaboration with the heritage team
• Drafting strategic planning reports and presentations aligned with both local and state reforms
• Mentoring junior staff and reviewing their project work as needed
• Managing key stakeholder relationships, including councils, clients, and both local and state planning panels

About You

You'll have a tertiary qualification in Urban Planning (or similar) and proven experience in NSW within a strategic planning role-ideally 3-5 years at senior level.
