JOB TITLE: Bush Regeneration Supervisor

JOB TYPE: Part time– Minimum 3 days per week up to 10 days a fortnight.

LOCATION: North-Coast.

SUPERVISOR/MANAGER: Projects manager with support from projects officer.

INTRODUCTION: We seek a team leader with a demonstrated work ethic, a passion for bush regeneration outcomes, good interpersonal skills, and experience in a supervisory role.

The successful applicant will have good vegetation community knowledge and restoration practice knowledge and share and encourage a growth mindset and positive workplace culture.

Big Scrub Regeneration has become established enough to be able to offer ongoing stable work to its employees.

Core management positions will be on a part-time contract for both the company and employee benefit. And secures long term committed staff with experience and knowledge of current projects,

The positions will be on a 12mth contract renewed annually.

PAY GUIDE: An enterprise agreement offers above award conditions and all part time employment entitlements with the landscape gardeners award as the basis.

This position is an annual skills based progression starting at Level 2 (negotiable based on experience)

– ($38.10 to $45.76 + 12% SGC).

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Undertake bush regeneration according to industry best practice.

· Support the skill development of all employees.

· Perform effective and safe treatment of weeds.

· Implement biodiversity plantings for habitat recovery.

· Comply with WH&S legislation.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

· Meet with landholders /clients and members of the public and deal with them in a respectful manner.

· Physically fit and able to work in sometimes steep or hot conditions.

· Plant identification of weed species at a variety of stages in their life cycle.

· Understanding of the processes which degrade native ecosystems and the basic ecological principles relating to these.

· Ability to work well within a team environment and encourage outcomes based positive workplace culture.

· Exercises good interpersonal and communications skills and ability to manage staff training and development.

· Capable of operating equipment such as auger, brush cutter.

· Assists in scheduling works coordinating staff and work routines.

· Work to a budget and plan works with assistance on project sites.

· A 4wd vehicle capable of accessing work sites with the capacity to carry some additional tools and materials.

Desirable Qualifications:

· Chainsaw cross cut and Felling tickets.

· Certificate III - Conservation and Land Management and/or demonstrated experience relevant to the role.

· Cert IV or Diploma - Conservation and Land Management and/or demonstrated experience relevant to the role.

· Chem cert AQF 3 or equivalent.

· First Aid Certificate.

· AABR accreditation.

Experience:

· 5+ years working in the field as a Bush Regenerator.

PERFORMANCE GOALS:

· Deal with clients, suppliers and other employees professionally at all times.

· Improve their own skills base by seeking knowledge from fellow bush regenerators and/or additional formalised training.

· Contribute to positive work culture.

· Demonstrate good work ethic and attention to detail.
