Are you a passionate and detail-oriented hospitality professional ready to take the next step in your career? Wallsend Diggers is currently seeking an Events Supervisor to join our friendly and energetic team in a permanent part-time capacity.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a key part of our events and catering department, supporting the successful delivery of a wide range of functions — from corporate events to private celebrations — in a community-focused club environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll provide on-the-day event coordination, supporting every stage of the event process:

Pre-Event:

Assist with room setups and ensure all client requirements are clearly understood and executed by the food and beverage staff and department heads

Liaise with clients to finalise run sheets and event details

Event Execution:

Brief food and beverage teams on the run sheet and expectations

Assist with audio visual and presentation requirements of the client

Supervise the service and ensure all aspects of the event run smoothly

Post-Event:

Oversee pack down and reset of event spaces

Compile brief event reports covering sales, customer feedback, and team performance

You will also:

Conduct site inspections, confidently liaising with clients to understand their needs and recommend tailored event solutions

· Prepare initial quotes and assist in securing new event bookings

· Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with returning clients and partner organisations

· Support the finalisation of contracts, invoicing, and processing of function payments

· Ensure all events comply with relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations

· Assist the catering and front-of-house teams during major club events, concerts, and peak bistro/café service periods as required

What We’re Looking For

· Experience in event coordination and/or catering within a hospitality setting
Strong leadership and team supervision skills
Excellent customer service and communication abilities
Ability to work a flexible roster — including evenings, weekends, public holidays, and split shifts
Familiarity with Function Tracker and SENPOS is an advantage (but not essential — full training provided)

Why Join Wallsend Diggers?

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow in event management, further develop their hospitality skills, and be part of a supportive team. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and love being part of delivering memorable customer experiences, we’d love to hear from you.
