About the Role

We are currently seeking a Sewer Crew Leading Hand to lead a crew of four on Tier 2 and Tier 3 civil infrastructure projects throughout the South East Queensland region.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be expected to work autonomously, keep your crew organised, and deliver results while upholding high standards of safety and quality.

You’ll be required to plan daily tasks, liaise with site supervisors and clients, and keep projects moving efficiently—without the need for constant oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Leading a sewer or stormwater crew on Tier 2–3 projects with minimal supervision

Planning daily works and coordinating with supervisors, clients, and other trades

Setting up and operating pipe lasers accurately to grade

Laying, haunching, and backfilling pipes to specification

Reading and interpreting construction plans

Upholding and enforcing safe work procedures in deep trench environments

Ensuring daily productivity targets, quality workmanship, and jobsite safety

Skills and Attributes

Experience leading sewer or stormwater crews

Strong organisational and communication skills

Ability to work independently and make clear on-site decisions

Physically fit and confident working in trench environments

Competent in laser setup and grade control

Calm under pressure and focused on solutions

Solid knowledge of trench safety and compliance practices
