Salary/Level: Level 2, $76,912 - $82,464 p.a. pro rata plus 12% Superannuation
Tenure: Seasonal, Part-time (0.6 FTE)
Location: Rottnest Island, Western Australia
The Visitor Services Officer (Late Shift) is a key role within the Visitor Services team tasked with delivery of high-level customer service to visitors to Rottnest Island during Visitor Centre opening hours and after it closes for the night. The role requires the individual to stay overnight on the Island in line with rostered shifts covering the afternoon and evening periods. Normal working hours will be 4:00pm to midnight. Overnight accommodation will be provided in line with the roster.
The position works with the Visitor Centre team during opening hours and patrols accommodation areas in the evening. The position is responsible for responding to calls to the Rottnest Island Authority after hours phone number, responding to queries, actioning requests and managing issues as well as ensuring compliance with terms and conditions to occupy accommodation operated by the Authority.
The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current Working With Children Check and a current and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.

Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as one of a team to achieve outcomes in line with business guidelines and to resolve conflicts when working with members of the public.
- Recent front-line experience within the accommodation or tourism industry including use of relevant software programmes, cash handling and balancing of daily takings.
- Ability to demonstrate superior skills in customer management and delivery of a high level of customer service.
- Highly developed verbal communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills and the ability to provide comprehensive, well written English reports using Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
- Applies and promotes the principles of equity, diversity and work health and safety in the workplace.
