- 1 x Permanent part-time position based in the Parkdale – 28 hrs/week
- 2 x Casual library officer positions working across all Kingston Libraries sites
- Includes weekdays, evenings and weekends
- Band 4: $74,303 – $79,054 pa pro rata plus superannuation
Casual rate: $45.72 per hour (includes 25% casual loading) plus superannuation

The City of Kingston Library Service operates eight branches, including major sites at Chelsea, Cheltenham, Parkdale, and Westall, offering innovative programs and events to support learning, recreation, and community engagement.
About the role
Kingston Libraries is seeking Library Officers to join our team in either a casual or part-time capacity
- Part time role: 28 hrs. per week – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday including one late shift per fortnight with Rostered weekend work in addition to this. This role is based in the Parkdale team and works at Parkdale, Clarinda and Westall libraries.
- Casual role: Casual library officers may be rostered to work across all sites on any day of the week, including days, evenings and weekends. There are no guaranteed hours for casual staff.
Your role is to:
- Represent Kingston Libraries as the face of our library service and perform customer duties to meet and exceed the expectations of both customers and the team
- Undertake rostered customer service shifts in a team environment across all library sites, including weekdays, weekends and evenings, performing a range of tasks that support customers and our community
- Actively promote services, events and programs that support literacy and digital literacy development across the Library Service
- Actively educate users on new and existing library facilities, collections, resources, technology and equipment
- Undertake a range of administrative tasks to ensure that the libraries operate efficiently
Your Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone who has:
- Excellent customer service skills, preferably in a library setting
- Experience supporting reader development and digital literacy
- Keen interest in new technologies and their library applications
- Skilled in supporting and delivering programs and events
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Positive, enthusiastic, and resilient attitude working with diverse customers and staff
- A tertiary qualification (TAFE or University)
- A current Employee Working with Children Card
- A current drivers licence and access to a reliable car
