About the role

We are looking for registered Behaviour Support Practitioners who live in either Perth or Bunbury/Busselton WA.

We offer a range of employment options, including roles that are commensurate with subcontracting for those with exceptional skills and want to work with greater flexibility and independence. Having said this, we only work in ways that is team based, with sharing of expertise, close supervision, lots of training and support.

Working with Microboards Australia also means you will be working at the forefront of contemporary practice and training opportunities. We partnered with Curtin University to develop 2 post graduate qualifications in the areas of PBS and AAC/Communication support Needs.

We also support the disability sector through the development of resources, programs and models with more recent projects including building sexuality literacy for people with complex communication needs and health literacy for families of people who have complex disability and use AAC.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for behaviour support practitioners with exceptional skills in working with families, organisations and individuals in the design and delivery of best practice person centred behaviour support approaches. We are seeking practitioners with contemporary skills in behaviour support and considered skills in working alongside families, people and support networks in respectful and true partnership, person led and neurodiversity affirming ways. Our team add value to networks of support with expertise rather than being an expert. Is this you?

Because of the way we work, the role may also provide opportunities to lead and support systemic and organisational operational and cultural development, dependent on your background and skills. True systemic change.

We are looking for people who:

Are registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission as a Behaviour Practitioner.

Have registration with their professional body where appropriate

Skills in partnering alongside service providers, families and broader systems using frameworks of systemic change.

A passion for learning and engaging in continuous professional development

A genuine passion for supporting people with complex needs, valuing the expertise of their support networks.

Have a keen interest and knowledge of supporting people with complex communication needs and sensory regulation needs.

A valid NDIS Worker Screening Assessment.

It would also be great if you have experience or skills in:

Supported decision making and supporting people with Complex Communication Needs.

Supporting people within a co-regulation and neuroaffirming framework.

Knowledge of behaviour support from a biopsychosocial, sensory regulation and neuroscience lens.

Work alongside other practitioners and disciplines, supporting multidisciplinary practice.
