About the role:

We are looking for registered Behaviour Support Practitioners/Provisional Psychologists, who have experience working with Indigenous peoples and complex presentations, to join us in supporting those vulnerable groups in rural and remote Western Australia. There are multiple roles available.

Provisional Psychologist/Behaviour Support Practitioner:

This position involves flying out to towns (from Perth) within Western Australia (e.g. Karratha, Port Hedland, Geraldton, Derby) to provide face-to-face therapeutic, behaviour support and psychological services to those with complex behaviours of concern, in most cases, with trauma as a preceding factor.

Each month you will be responsible for providing high quality behaviour support services for 8 days of the month (broken up into single day, overnight and the occasional three-day trip). This schedule will be negotiated with the applicant to fit their personal schedule and their client needs.

This role offers flexible working conditions and you can work from our office, your home, up north (when providing face-to-face services), or most likely a mixture of all three. There is no traditional 9am to 5pm work week and as long as you meet your monthly responsibilities (outlined in your Job Description Form), you are encouraged to work to a schedule that best suits your lifestyle (and of course, the clients you work with).

Part of the role may include servicing Perth clients and travel within the metro. Flights up north depart from Perth only.

Working to provide face-to-face behavioural therapy and training to participants with complex and persistent mental and physical disabilities.

Drafting robust Behaviour Support Plans while you are in Perth (or anywhere else for that matter), and speaking in Authorisation Panels to speak about any restrictive practices you may recommend.

Experience with various psychological, diagnostic assessments, clinical formulation and report writing (if applying for the dual Psychologist role)

Providing Telehealth services from Perth (or anywhere that has a reliable internet connection) to vulnerable young people in Karratha, Port Hedland and/or Broome.

Communicating any progress, barriers, and supports required in multidisciplinary team meetings in an assertive and respectful manner in ways that everyone can understand.

Engaging in regular clinical supervision with an intent of bettering your critical reflective capacity and developing your professional identity.

You may like this role if:

This role may not apply to everyone. A successful candidate would prefer to work flexibly and autonomously with emotional and practice support provided as they require. You will also:

You live in Perth and enjoy flying out to rural and remote areas of Western Australia and learning about different ways of working.

Genuinely collegially oriented and comfortable working in a workplace that values diversity

Strong critical thinking, active listening, communication, and reflection skills

Have experience in conducting assessments including risk assessments, behaviour support assessments, functional behaviour assessments (FBAs), and psychosocial assessments

Have experience in positive behaviour support strategy development and/or psychological case formulation (at least 12 months experience)

Have confidence and competence to write interim, standard, and comprehensive reports that are person-centred, meaningful, and meet internal and external quality standards (at least 12 months experience)

$90,000 - $110,000 per year + super (depending on role)

A generous bonus structure that allows you to earn an additional $30,000 per year.
