About the role and program

ACSO's Men's Reintegration Service program is a state-wide program delivering re-entry services to people in prison and the community in partnership with Queensland Corrective Service (QCS). The program provides support in collaboration with the client and focusing on resolving any barriers pertaining to their return to the community, the service will also promote a successful reintegration journey. The service delivery model comprises of intense pre-release support, throughcare post-release support for up to six months, and after-hours services, to achieve successful outcomes for the people we support

Our Team Leaders are integral people leaders who lead the OneACSO culture and support their team to achieve great client outcomes. They lead their team and successfully support their work through assessing and monitoring risk, building and delivering a high-quality service, and providing timely supervision to support their team members to develop their emotional intelligence and resilience. They may assist the Program Manager with program delivery and stakeholder management where necessary.

Success as a Team Leader requires you to have strong leadership qualities and a sound understanding of the challenges faced by people exiting custody. Reporting to the Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day service delivery of CREST, supervising a medium sized team to ensure quality client outcomes.

What we're looking for

People with transferable skills and who are looking for a new opportunity to develop community services. As well as having demonstrated experience as a people leader and leading high performing and engaged teams.

What's most important to us are people with the right attitude and values, and who can bring what they already know to the table, as well as have a desire to learn more.

You will also have/be:

  • Relevant sector experience
  • 2+ years' experience as a people leader
  • Prior experience and success in leading others in the delivery of program services
  • Demonstrated communication strengths in the areas of; interpersonal sensitivity, communicating sensitive information effectively, conducting difficult conversations in an empathetic and authentic manner
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to build and foster a high-performance team culture
  • A thorough understanding of the current trends, practices, policies and legislation pertaining to their program area.
  • Confidence and ability to build positive relationships and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • An extensive background working with Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people will be highly regarded
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
