Skip Tracing Australia is a leading legal investigations firm trusted by law firms, government agencies and insurers to locate individuals for legal proceedings, enforcement, and due diligence.

We’re expanding our national pool of contractors and are seeking licensed Private Investigators with the skills, mindset, and initiative to conduct high-quality skip tracing investigations on a contract basis.

This role is being advertised in all states of Australia.

💼 The Work

You’ll receive a digital case file including a subject’s profile, preliminary findings, and available leads. From there, your job is to verify information through research, analysis, and phone-based outreach — including covert interviews with subjects or known associates where appropriate.

We provide the starting data — you apply investigative thinking to verify outcomes and submit concise, professional notes in our format.

🔎 You might use:

Desktop investigation and OSINT skills

Field knowledge from surveillance, enforcement, or process serving

Your own legally accessed databases and professional networks

Strategic phone-based questioning to verify address data

This work requires initiative, good judgement, and clear communication. We’re not looking for passive data-entry contractors or call centre staff — we’re looking for real investigators who like problem solving, analysing, talking to people and using process of elimination tacts.

📌 Essentials

You must:

Hold a current PI licence in your state or territory

Have your own access to investigation tools, databases and a secure workstation

Be comfortable initiating covert investigative conversations by phone

Willing and able to undertake contact attempts outside of normal business hours

Be able to show and explain your workings in written investigative format, leaving clients with no questions left to answer.

Have previous experience in skip tracing, field work, enforcement, or related investigations

Be self-managed, results-oriented and responsive

Field surveillance or enforcement experience

Prior experience in legal service, debt recovery or insurance claims

Process serving or legal document experience

🔁 Workflow & Volume

Work is assigned based on your availability, capacity, and quality

Agent turnaround time of one week (5-7 business days) is expected

Contractors can take 5–20 jobs per week based on proven capacity

Paid per completed job, regardless of the outcome — no hourly tracking or timesheets
