• Pay rate $45 per hour
• Monday to Thursday - 7am - 3.30pm
• Fridays - 7am - 1:30pm
• Prestons location
• 4 month project however for the right person this may be extended

TLH Recruitment is proudly representing a Remediation Specialist in the Rail Industry , based in Prestons. They are seeking an experienced and qualified Mechanical Fitter to join their team! This opportunity is initially for a 4 month project however for the right person may be ongoing.

Responsibilities:

• Overhaul, test, and maintain - brake systems, door systems ,dampers and suspension used in rail applications
• Perform detailed mechanical assembly and disassembly work
• Interpret technical drawings and follow strict maintenance procedures
• Conduct safety inspections and complete relevant documentation
• Assist with general workshop tasks and maintain a safe work area
• Operate hand and power tools as needed
• No heavy lifting required would use pullies and over head cranes
• Training provided

Requirements:

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter/fitter turner/boiler maker (Cert III or equivalent)
• Rail experience essential
• Welding ticket essential(MIG/TIG welding)
• Relevant training in NDT, particularly Magnetic Particle Inspection
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on workshop experience
• Proven experience in bogie overhaul or rolling-stock repair
• Experience with overhauling or maintaining mechanical components (rail, industrial, automotive or similar)
• Understanding of pneumatic systems (advantageous)
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, perform quality/final inspection and maintain records
• High attention to detail and safety awareness
• Physically fit, reliable, and committed to quality work
• Forklift licence (preferred but not essential)
• Reliable and able to commit for length of project
