Mechanical Fitter - Food Manufacturing | Wetherill Park, NSW

We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-focused Mechanical Fitter to support our high-performing maintenance team at our Wetherill Park facility. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced FMCG environment where your contribution directly impacts the quality and efficiency of our production lines.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Perform preventive maintenance and attend to breakdown repairs on high-speed processing and packaging equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical faults and perform root cause analysis to minimize downtime.
• Carry out mechanical fitting tasks such as bearing replacements, pump servicing, conveyor maintenance, and gearbox overhauls.
• Ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely and comply with WHS policies and procedures.
• Use CMMS (e.g., MEX or similar) to log work orders, track repairs, and maintain asset history.
• Work collaboratively with production, QA, and electrical teams to ensure smooth plant operation.

What We're Looking For:

• Trade qualified - Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitter & Turner or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience in mechanical fitting within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, and rotating equipment.
• High attention to safety, quality, and housekeeping.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, or call-outs when required.
