About the Company:
We are delighted to be partnering with one of Australia's leading retailers to provide them with a Payroll Team Leader
This opportunity with one of Australia's leading retail brands is your chance to lead a team of payroll officers, along with contributing to the overall compliance of the payroll function.
About the Role:
- Manage end-to-end payroll operations across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of Payroll Officers, encouraging their growth and development
- Oversee month-end and year-end payroll activities, including reconciliations and meeting audit requirements
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements and system efficiencies
- Provide expert advice on legislation, awards, and internal policies to ensure ongoing compliance
- Collaborate with teams across People, Finance, and Retail Operations to ensure smooth and effective payroll service delivery
Skills and Experience
- Experience managing end-to-end payroll in a high-volume, complex environment
- In-depth knowledge of payroll legislation and awards, with a strong focus on the General Retail Award
- Proficient in enterprise payroll systems such as Workday, Ento, or HR3
- Advanced Excel capabilities, with confidence working across complex data sets and spreadsheets
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a passion for accuracy, continuous improvement, and collaborative teamwork
