About us
Waxys Irish Pub is located in the heart of Surfers Paradise, 2 minutes' walk from Cavill Avenue Tram Station. The kitchen is open 7 days from 1130am-230pm and 5pm-830pm. We offer quality pub food at a reasonable price to appeal to a wide range of customers.
Qualifications & experience
Leadership, Mentoring and Supervisory Experience
Understanding of the importance of cost control, budgets and margins
Maintain compliance with all food safety regulations and procedures
Current Food Safety Supervisor certification
Minimum 2 years’ experience as Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume venue, Irish or British pub experience highly regarded.
Tasks & responsibilities
Kitchen Operations - Ordering, Rosters, Monthly Stock Takes, Stock Control, to improve financial performance of kitchen
Menu Development - Help improve current menu, adding monthly specials and seasonal dishes
Health and Safety Compliance - Ensure kitchen is a safe place to work in
Hygiene - Venue currently has 5* food safety rating, keep this through high levels of cleaning, correct food storage and record keeping
Staff Leadership - Ensure kitchen runs smoothly in your absence, increase skills of other chefs
Ability to plan ahead for upcoming events - such as V8's, St Patrick's Day, Functions
