We’re Looking for a Social Media Coordinator & Content Creator
Location: 5094 Gepps Cross, Adelaide (hybrid option considered)
Full-time preferred (37.5 hrs/week) | Part-time considered (min. 3 days/week)
At Oskar's Wooden Ark, we believe in the magic of childhood, the joy of open-ended play, and the beauty of sustainably made toys. We're a passionate, purpose-driven family business with a loyal following, and we’re looking for someone creative, organised, and community-minded to help us grow and nurture our social media presence.
This role is ideal for someone who’s hands-on, thoughtful, and genuinely enjoys storytelling through visuals, words, and short-form video content. You’ll work closely with our product and marketing teams, and be a key part of how our brand shows up online.
💻 What You'll Be Doing:
Develop and implement social media strategies across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
Plan, film, edit, and schedule engaging content — think Reels, Stories, carousels, tutorials, behind-the-scenes and playful product showcases
This role includes being on camera - often alongside our founder-led team - to help tell stories, share behind-the-scenes and connect with our community in an authentic way
Manage our content calendar and align social posts with launches, campaigns and seasonal themes and warmly engage with our community
Create visual assets and graphics using Canva for social media, newsletters, and marketing campaigns
Write and build our weekly newsletters (Klaviyo), including customer segmentation based on purchase history, engagement levels, and demographics
Analyze newsletter performance metrics and use Klaviyo analytics to identify customer behavior patterns, track campaign ROI, and optimize future campaigns
Write engaging blog posts about toy trends, play ideas, and parenting tips to drive website traffic and support SEO
Coordinate product send-outs and communication with content creators and influencers
Support our customer service team by helping manage and coordinate local pickup orders from our Adelaide warehouse
Review analytics and insights to help inform future content ideas and strategies
🧠 You’ll Thrive in This Role If You:
Are passionate about creative storytelling and purposeful play — especially if you’re inspired by Waldorf, Montessori, or natural parenting approaches
Have 1–2 years of experience managing social media for a brand or small business - OR - you’re a recent graduate with a natural talent for content creation, a sharp eye for detail, and a strong willingness to learn and grow
Love making and editing short-form videos
Are naturally organised and detail-oriented — calendars, planning and follow-ups are your thing
Feel confident writing captions, responding to comments, and communicating clearly with both team and community
Embrace the chance to grow and make a real impact within a small, family business environment - where collaboration is key, roles often flexible and you’ll experience the rewards and challenges that come from working closely with a passionate, dedicated team.
✨ What We Offer:
A warm, collaborative and creative team culture
A role with real purpose - helping inspire open-ended play and a deeper connection to childhood
Fair and competitive remuneration, with the potential for the role (and salary) to grow over time based on performance, contribution, and evolving responsibilities
Generous staff discount on our full range of thoughtfully curated toys and play resources
Ongoing opportunities for growth, learning and creativity
This is an Adelaide-based role, and most of your time will be spent on-site in our office and playroom where the magic happens - working closely with our team, capturing content, and staying connected to our products and community. That said, we understand the need for flexibility, especially for parents or those balancing family commitments. The exact structure of working hours and days can be discussed with the right person - we're open to making it work.
