About the Role
The Content & Social Media Assistant for Southern Design Group (SDG) is responsible for the content creation, including videography, editing and briefing to the graphic designer, as well as content planning, scheduling, implementation and community engagement for three distinct brands across various social media channels. Working collaboratively across the Senior Creative Manager and the marketing team, the role is instrumental in supporting our communication plan outcomes through a range of social media channels.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Content Creation
Ideation, creation and editing of video content for social media in line with our brand content pillars
Ideation, briefing and proofing of visual content with the Graphic Designer
Adapt creative content to suit various social media platforms using best practice
Utilise our SEO strategy to create written captions and content aligned with our brands to drive increased engagements, follows and traffic to our websites.
Social Media Content Scheduling and Implementation
Working closely with the Senior Creative Manager, support the execution of the digital strategy by scheduling of social media content, and building out plans and schedules ahead of time
Post content across all brands social media accounts including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest, Google MyBusiness and Tiktok.
Assist in the community management of all 3 brands social accounts.
Manage and respond to Direct Messages and comments across all brands social media accounts.
Support by boosting successful posts to gain further engagement and follows
Digital Asset Management (DAM) System Maintenance
Uploading new project and collaboration imagery files to the DAM system, including relevant product tagging
Collaborations Support
Support the Senior Creative Manager to follow up collaboration projects, requesting project content and copy and recording deliverables received.
Manage the record keeping of collaboration deliverables and maintenance and updates of Asana tasks for collaborations
Research
Research competitors and aligned brands to keep up to date with the latest social media trends, formats and styles.
Reporting
Analyse monthly social media report and make clear recommendations for improvements and new content creation.
Required Skills and Experience
Essential
Recent graduate with a minimum of 1 year of marketing work (can be part time) or equivalent experience
Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, communications, or related field
Enthused by a challenge, work quickly and efficiently and able to handle multiple tasks and competing deadlines
Excellent organisational skills
Proactive, with the ability to learn quickly and problem solve
Demonstrates creativity and strong visual design skills with an eye for aesthetics.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office: e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Highly skilled in videography and video editing software for social media purposes
Skilled in social media marketing, including experience with Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn and TikTok
Desirable
Experience in Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe CC, Photoshop, InDesign highly regarded
An interest and ideally experience in the architecture, interior design, building or architectural hardware market.
