  • Location: Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available across NSW Department of Education offices.

  • Competitive remuneration ranging from $149,739 to $173,174 plus super & annual leave loading.

The IT Strategic Sourcing Lead Services is responsible for overseeing the entire strategic sourcing process to ensure a seamless supply of IT goods and services that align with business objectives.

This role leads end-to-end strategic sourcing for ICT goods and services within the Department of Education, with a strong focus on market engagement, supplier evaluation, and commercial negotiation. It involves analysing market trends, supplier performance, and spend patterns to develop informed sourcing strategies that align with policy and deliver value-for-money outcomes. The role drives negotiation planning and execution, leveraging data and whole-of-government opportunities to improve commercial outcomes, optimise supplier arrangements, and support long-term procurement planning.

Additionally, the lead collaborates with senior management to refine procurement processes and contributes to business planning and the development of procurement capabilities throughout the organisation. The role emphasises continuous improvement in procurement performance, reinforcing the importance of strategic sourcing in achieving organisational goals.

About you

  • Strategic thinker with a strong background in ICT procurement.
  • Expertise in researching and analysing market trends and supplier performance to provide valuable insights
  • Skilled in developing innovation sourcing strategies that deliver maximum value, reduce cost and enhance supplier relationships
  • Excellent collaborator, working closely with senior management to refine procurement processes
  • Focused on fostering continuous improvements and supplier development and engagement
  • Able to align sourcing initiatives with organisational goals to drive procurement excellence business success
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge skills and experience.
  • A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
