This Role Is About Making Things Happen

This is a senior position. Your job will be to manage the end-to-end bookkeeping for 10-15 trade and construction businesses.

Working with a small client base you'll be able to complete high quality work without frustrating time limits, build positive relationships with each client, and make their lives much easier with exceptional service.

This is NOT reactive, generalist data entry. This IS proactive, value adding bookkeeping that changes the game for our clients.

For example, not just blindly reconciling accounts and moving onto the next – but reviewing how the business is going, getting their accounts up to date weekly, improving systems and processes to save time and help your clients win, and providing clarity around their tax obligations and cash flow.

Being an end-to-end role, this position is client facing. You will liaise directly with each client to respond to weekly client queries. Provide proactive advice around compliance, numbers, and accounts (be helpful and supportive). Analyse and improve the efficiency/state of their accounts. Prep and lodge BAS, TPAR, IAS etc. And act as a workflow manager for your clients ensuring that everything is up to date.

Separate to client work – you will work with the rest of the TBA team (bookkeepers, tax accountants, and business coaches) to collaborate, share feedback and wins, and improve our service and client experience.

Have complete ownership of your bookkeeping role with end to end client management (with support from the rest of the team when necessary)

Minimal weekly meetings. Typically 1 team meeting and 1 bookkeeping meeting. The rest of the week is flexible appointments with clients / team members where necessary

We use modern, cloud-based systems including Xero, Dext, Asana, Microsoft Teams, and other smart tools to make your work smooth, efficient, and frustration-free

What We Need From You

Degree qualified (business, commerce, accounting, finance etc.)

Minimum 10 years’ accounting/bookkeeping experience within a public practice and business services setting (client facing)

Very tech savvy with experience working online

Highly competent with Xero and Dext (or similar receipt management software)

Proactive, positive, friendly, and helpful personality – this is a MUST

Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

Passionate about helping clients achieve great outcomes

High attention to detail in your work and in your communication. Please include the abbreviation ‘HATD’ at the bottom of your cover letter to prove this quality

Must provide EXCEPTIONAL customer service (enthusiasm, positivity, helpfulness, empathy)

Sound knowledge of relevant ATO legislation

Team player who likes to work collaboratively with others

Ability to use initiative, set own priorities and meet deadlines

Self-motivated and disciplined, with a results-driven mindset
