About Us:
At Implicit Interior Management Group, we specialise in delivering high-quality joinery, detailed interior fit-outs, and refurbishment projects across residential and commercial spaces. As our project scope expands—from custom cabinetry and feature walls to aged care interiors and commercial workspaces—the need for specialised architectural drafting expertise has become essential.
We are seeking an Architectural Draftsperson to bridge the gap between concept and execution. This role is crucial in converting design briefs and site measurements into precise, regulation-compliant drafting documentation that our production, site teams and clients can rely on.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret architectural and interior plans to develop detailed documentation for custom joinery, fit-outs, and small construction works.
- Produce 2D and 3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD, Microvellum, or similar software for kitchens, wardrobes, commercial joinery, and interiors.
- Create full documentation sets including floor plans, elevations, sections, joinery details, and installation drawings.
- Revise and update plans and drawings to incorporate design changes, stakeholder feedback, and site- specific adjustments, ensuring consistency and accuracy throughout the documentation process.
- Ensure all documentation complies with Australian building codes and standards (BCA, NCC)
- Prepare technical documents including cutting lists, material take-offs and schedules.
- Liaise with clients, builders, architects, engineers, and internal teams to ensure project accuracy and resolve design queries.
- Conduct site visits to verify dimensions and site conditions for accurate drafting.
- Track and implement drawing revisions and project variations throughout the job lifecycle.
- Support the design team in concept development and client presentations.
- Collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders including clients, builders, engineers, surveyors, landscape designers, suppliers, architects, building designers, regulatory authorities, and certifiers.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A diploma level or higher in Architectural Drafting, Building Design, or related field.
- At least 1 year of drafting experience in joinery, interiors, or architectural projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (experience with Microvellum or Revit is a plus) - Strong knowledge of the BCA, NCC, and Australian construction practices.
- High attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills - Excellent communication and ability to work both independently and in a team.
Why Join Us?
- Be part of a company where design meets delivery, and your work has a direct impact
- Exposure to a variety of project types - residential, commercial, aged care, and more
- Collaborative and supportive team environment
- Long-term growth opportunities and potential for increased responsibility
How to Apply:
Please submit your resume, a short cover letter, and portfolio samples showcasing your joinery, interiors, or architectural documentation work.
