About the Role

We’re seeking a self-motivated, experienced Masters Draftsperson to join our Melbourne Head Office due to increased build volumes. You’ll develop and maintain master documentation across our home design portfolio, ensuring compliance with standards and building codes. You’ll also help standardise and improve drafting templates and practices, applying your construction knowledge to ensure accuracy, buildability, and consistency

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Produce and maintain comprehensive master drawing sets for all standard designs, façade options, and structural variations

Ensure master plans are clear, accurate, compliant, and aligned with company drafting standards and NCC/BCA requirements

Develop and maintain operational manuals guiding master file use and updates

Support innovation in drafting methodologies, template management, and technical documentation practices

Provide training and guidance to production drafters on master file usage, detail application, and drafting standards

Liaise with construction, estimating, suppliers, and consultants to verify accuracy and applicability of master designs

Responsible for plan checking, incorporating mark-ups, engineering, compliance updates, and resolving design issues pre-construction

Maintain compliance with NCC, developer guidelines, council standards, and company drafting protocols

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in residential drafting, ideally with exposure to both production and master plan documentation

Strong understanding of construction methods and buildability within the volume housing industry

Advanced proficiency in ArchiCAD, including developing and maintaining drafting templates and detail libraries

Knowledge of relevant codes and regulations including NCC, BCA, and developer requirements

High attention to detail and commitment to documentation accuracy and drafting quality

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple files and plan sets simultaneously

Proactive problem-solving approach focusing on efficiency, clarity, and practical implementation

Experience with ArchiCAD-based BOQ systems and schedules

Reliability and accountability for drafting quality and version control across master documents
