Palliative Care South Australia (PCSA) is a leading charity and independent peak body representing palliative care providers, consumers and their families, and those with an interest in palliative care in South Australia.
This position coordinates PCSA’s Compassionate Communities SA (CCSA) project activities. With a focus on community capacity building and engagement, as well as public education of the Compassionate Communities approach.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic person to join our team on a part time basis (19 hours per week) to work with our CEO on a new project. Compassionate Communities aims to build networks of support around people in their last chapter of life.
Responsibilities
Co- design and deliver community development initiatives, workshops, and events
Strengthen PCSA presence across the community to help PCSA become a catalyst for long-term focus on compassionate communities across the State
Understanding and documenting community needs in relation to the last chapter of life
Build and maintain relationships with LGAs, clubs and community groups to support the development and delivery of programs and events
Represent PCSA at community meetings, events, booths and forums.
Gather feedback from stakeholders to inform program improvements
Coordinate and facilitate introductory level training (such as TLC Connector training)
Skills and Experience
Qualification in a relevant field such as Community Development, Community Engagement or Social Work
Well-developed understanding and ability to relate with a diverse range of people, demonstrated stakeholder engagement, coordination and record keeping
Skills in project coordination, community development, program evaluation and supervision of volunteers
Experience in delivering a range of projects, meeting targets including timeframes, budget, and desired outcomes
Ability to facilitate introductory level training
High level of attention to detail and communication skills, both written and verbal
High level time management, planning and organisational skills
