About the Role
We’re seeking an enthusiastic Fitness Activities Coordinator to join our team at our Findon location. This pivotal role involves designing and implementing engaging fitness programs specifically tailored for our 55+ community. You’ll work directly with residents to enhance their quality of life through personalised exercise regimens, group classes, and wellness initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Create and manage comprehensive gym and pool class schedules suitable for residents
Conduct initial assessments and regular reviews to develop personalised exercise programs
Provide expert instruction on specialized HUR equipment and other fitness apparatus
Lead a variety of engaging group fitness classes in both gym and pool settings
Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming fitness facilities
Track resident progress and adjust programs to optimise physical wellbeing
Develop innovative promotions and activities to increase participation
Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals when appropriate
Foster a supportive community that celebrates fitness achievements
Requirements
Exercise Physiologist/Exercise Scientist qualification OR Certificate III/IV in Fitness
Minimum 2+ years experience working with seniors (55+) in fitness settings
Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience leading group fitness classes for older adults
Ability to work effectively in both one-on-one and group settings
Excellent organisational and time management capabilities
Compassionate approach with a focus on maintaining resident dignity
Computer literacy for managing bookings and resident records
