HOBAN Recruitment is seeking skilled APS 5 & APS 6 level Business Analysts to support a key federal initiative. Based in either Newcastle or Wollongong NSW, this is your opportunity to use data-driven insights to shape meaningful outcomes and support continuous improvement in a high-impact program.

About the Role
As a Business Analyst, you will play a vital role in delivering data analysis, forecasting, and performance reporting. Your responsibilities will include:

• Using Microsoft Excel, Salesforce, and SAS to extract, analyse and present data
• Developing and maintaining projection and forecasting models for operational and strategic use
• Creating data visualisations, reports, and actionable insights
• Conducting quality assurance, trend analysis and performance reviews
• Supporting performance tracking and identifying improvement opportunities
• Communicating business insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• Liaising with key stakeholders to improve data literacy and promote best practices
• Managing workflow queries via JIRA and contributing to team reporting

About You
We're looking for a highly motivated professional with a passion for analytics and business improvement. You will bring:

• Advanced Excel skills - power query, pivot tables, data visualisation, formulas
• Strong forecasting and statistical modelling experience
• Proficiency in SAS and ideally Salesforce analytics tools
• The ability to translate technical data into accessible language
• Proven ability to manage priorities and work independently or in a team
• High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience in quality assurance and trend analysis
• Experience using JIRA (desirable)
• Background in public service is advantageous
