ADD VALUE - THE ROLE
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced arts and culture professional to lead the Singleton Arts & Cultural Centre (SACC) as our next Coordinator Arts & Culture (Gallery Director).
You’ll be at the forefront of delivering high-quality exhibitions, inclusive public programs, and community engagement initiatives that contribute to Singleton’s cultural identity and creative economy. This is a people leader position that combines vision, strategy, and hands-on delivery, offering the chance to shape a growing regional arts centre with national ambition.
What you’ll be doing;
- Deliver engaging exhibitions, events, and public programs that inspire our community and draw new audiences
- Lead a creative, high-performing team focused on access, inclusion, and impact
- Build meaningful partnerships with artists, organisations, and funding bodies
- Manage operational resources, budgets, and funding applications to support sustainable service delivery
- Promote the Arts & Cultural Centre as a vibrant cultural destination and enhance its visibility in the region
- Provide expert advice to internal stakeholders and the Singleton Arts & Cultural Advisory Group
About You
You’ll be a confident leader and curator of ideas with a strong background in the gallery or cultural sector. You thrive on collaboration, are comfortable with complexity, and understand what it takes to run a high-quality arts venue in a regional context.
To succeed in this role, you’ll have:
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in visual arts, arts management, cultural policy, or museum/gallery practice
- Proven experience delivering exhibitions and public programs in a public gallery or similar institution
- Strong people leadership, project management and budgeting skills
- A track record of growing diverse audiences and engaging community through arts initiatives
- Experience securing and managing grants and external funding
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
It is desirable if you also have:
- Experience working in or with local government
- Knowledge of public art, First Nations engagement, or cultural inclusion practices
- Membership in relevant industry bodies (e.g. PGNSW, M&G NSW, NAVA)
This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis working 35 hours per week.
Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 14 of Council's Salary System Protocol which equates to a base salary of $112,708 - $126,782 per annum plus superannuation.
