Our client - an award winning, multi-site accounting firm specialising in business services, taxation consultancy, audit & assurance, finance and wealth management are on the lookout for a Manager for their Business Services & Taxation Team.

  • Play a key role in ensuring the growth, profitability and high-level client experience of this amazing firm
  • Mentor, coach and grow junior to intermediate accountants

About You

You're someone who takes pride in building strong relationships - with clients and your team alike. You're commercially aware, technically sound, and enjoy leading from the front. In addition, you'll bring:

  • CA/CPA qualification with a tertiary qualification in accounting
  • A strong foundation in public practice firms (6 years or more), with proven experience in Business Services & Taxation at a supervisory or manager level
  • High-level technical capability across compliance, advisory, and planning
  • A Collaborative leadership style - you're confident coaching others, managing workflow and performance
  • Strong client-facing skills - you enjoy being in the room with clients, solving problems and offering real value
  • Excellent communication skills - you can hold your own with directors and clients, and know how to bring your team along with you
  • A solutions mindset - you're able to troubleshoot, problem-solve and manage competing priorities calmly
  • High attention to detail - especially around billing, workflow management, and quality control
  • Comfortable driving change and process improvement - you see the bigger picture and look for ways to lift performance
  • Tech-savvy, with solid experience in Xero, XPM and the MS Office suite

About Your Day-to-Day

You'll have a big hand in shaping the success of both your clients and your team. While no two days will look the same, your week might include:

  • Managing workflow for the team, allocating work and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Reviewing financial reports, ITRs, BAS, and compliance work - including more complex returns
  • Coaching, supporting, and developing team members (from juniors to intermediates)
  • Preparing and reviewing tax planning strategies
  • Forecasting, modelling and assisting with business valuations
  • Partnering with clients - leading meetings, offering commercial insights, and supporting growth
  • Driving business development - contributing to strategy, identifying opportunities, and helping the practice grow
  • Keeping a close eye on WIP, billing, and team performance
  • Proactively managing client relationships and queries - ensuring excellent service and timely resolution
  • Contributing to the leadership team - including internal process improvements and change initiatives
  • Being a go-to person - clients and colleagues trust you for clarity, quality, and direction
