About Us:
Melville Glades is a private members golf club located in the leafy surrounds of Leeming. We pride ourselves on offering a welcoming, community-focused environment with a strong food and beverage offering, from relaxed member meals to busy club functions and private events.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and reliable Sous Chef with at least 2–3 years of experience to join our hospitality team. This role supports the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring consistency, quality, and creativity across our seasonal menu and events.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in leading kitchen operations from Tuesday to Sunday, including member meals, competitions, and club events

Oversee kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef

Contribute to seasonal menu planning and maintain high standards of presentation and consistency

Support catering for functions including weddings, presentations, corporate golf days and private events

Maintain food safety standards, cleanliness, and efficient stock control

Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to deliver timely, quality meals

Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as needed

What We’re Looking For:

Minimum 2–3 years experience in a similar role (bistro, club, or function venue preferred)

Reliable, hands-on and calm under pressure

Ability to work across both structured menus and buffet/function service

A team player who takes pride in consistency and presentation

Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery and Food Safety

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends (rostered)
