At Mercure Cairns, we’re looking for a friendly, dependable Casual Night Auditor to be the overnight face of our hotel and ensure guests have a seamless stay.

If you love a role that blends guest service, finance, and a little bit of everything else to keep the hotel ticking overnight, keep reading!

What you’ll be up to:

Greeting guests with a warm welcome — handling check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and answering questions like a pro

Managing phone calls, guest requests, wake-up calls, and making sure guests have what they need

Completing nightly financial audits, balancing cash drawers, and preparing reports so the day team can start fresh

Keeping an eye on hotel security with regular patrols and ensuring all public areas are clean, safe, and inviting

Assisting other departments as required

Providing coverage for other employees’ days off and leave as needed

Opportunity for additional Front Office shifts when available to support the team

Monitoring emails and bookings overnight to keep everything on track

Maintaining a professional front office environment and representing Mercure Cairns with pride

Following hotel procedures for emergencies, security, cash handling, and guest privacy

What we’re looking for:

Friendly communicator with great attention to detail and time management skills

Someone who stays calm under pressure and can work independently

Experience with property management systems like Protel or similar

Understanding of revenue management is a plus

Physically able to stand for long periods, walk regularly, and handle light lifting (linen, trays, cleaning equipment)

Punctual and professional with a neat, clean uniform and positive attitude

Available for night shifts from 11pm to 7am on a flexible roster including weekends

Legal right to live and work in Australia
