About the Role

People 2U Labour Hire is seeking an experienced and reliable Diesel Mechanic or Fitter for a key role at a well-established industrial site in Gillman, South Australia. This is a great long-term opportunity with consistent hours and a strong team culture on site.

You’ll be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a range of heavy equipment including loaders, excavators, material handlers, and fixed plant machinery. The role would suit someone confident working autonomously, with a proactive approach to preventative and breakdown maintenance.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Service, repair and maintain diesel-powered mobile plant and equipment

Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical faults

Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks

Complete repair documentation and communicate with site supervisors

Operate safely in a busy industrial yard and workshop environment

You’ll Bring:

Diesel Mechanic or Fitter trade qualification (essential)

Proven experience working on heavy mobile or fixed plant equipment

Sound mechanical aptitude with hydraulic and diagnostic skills

Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)

Strong safety focus and ability to follow maintenance procedures

Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively

Role Details:

Location: Gillman SA – industrial yard/workshop setting

Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Overtime: Most Saturdays and additional hours on request

Start Date: From 11 August 2025 onward
