Skookum provides engineered outcomes and ongoing support and services to the Timber industry in Australia.

We are seeking some great individuals who are motivated and reliable individuals, preferably with a strong mechanical or welding background and a decent sense of humor for the position of fulltime Mechanical Fitter and/or Boilermaker for Site and Workshop work.

This vacancy comes with an attractive wage and will be based from our Mount Gambier workshop, however will include site work around South Australia in the timber and materials handling industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Problem Solving

Inspecting and reporting

Fitting of new equipment

Understanding of preventative maintenance

Process improvement engineering

Plant Upgrades

Service and maintenance of equipment

Fitting and Assembly of Finished Equipment

Installation and Commissioning

Equipment Testing and Refining

Equipment Alignment

Machinery diagnostics

Preference will be given to applicants with a trade qualification in fitting and/or fabrication.

REQUIREMENTS

The successful applicants will possess the relevant attributes:

Fitting/Welding Experience

Mechanically Competent

Mechanically curious and inquisitive

Ability to work unsupervised as well as being a good team player

Produce work of high quality with good attention to detail

Good communication Skills

Honest, reliable and be capable of presenting a good company image

Self-motivated and have a can-do attitude

Physically capable

Able to work across multiple sites and variety of industries

Excellent attitude towards Health and Safety

A full AU driver license

38 hours / week, but with Flexibility in relation to working overtime

Also open to part time hours for skilled trades person wanting flexibility
