Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a CNC Operator/Trades Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about joinery and eager to continue their career, or kickstart a rewarding career in the industry. As an CNC Operator/Trades Assistant, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of woodworking machinery to produce components for the manufacture of shopfitting and commercial joinery, load/unload trucks as required, assist cabinetmakers with production when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC, edgebander, other woodworking machinery for the production of components for the manufacturing team. (training can be provided if necessary).
- Routine maintenance and troubleshooting of all machinery.
- Load/unload trucks when required. Forklift training/license can be arranged if required.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Assist in the construction and assembly of custom cabinetry and joinery products.
- Follow detailed instructions and plans to ensure precise measurements and quality standards.
- Assist in the selection and preparation of materials, including cutting, shaping, and finishing timber.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Continuously learn and develop your skills under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating wood working machinery, CNC, panel saw, edgebander, spindle moulder, planer/thicknesser, wide belt sander. Experience an advantage though not necessary, training can be provided to selected candidate if required.
- Enthusiasm for joinery and a genuine interest in cabinet making and joinery.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn from experienced tradespeople.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude.
- A high school certificate or equivalent.
