About the role
MALTEC ENGINEERING PTY LTD is seeking an experienced and Qualified CNC Machinist to join our team in Burnie, Tasmania. This is a full-time permanent position where you will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machinery to produce high-quality components and parts.
What you'll be doing
Set up, program, and operate CNC machines to manufacture parts and components to precise specifications
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance
Read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and work instructions to determine the appropriate machining processes
Measure and inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
Collaborate with the engineering team to identify opportunities for process improvements
Maintain accurate records of production activities and machine usage
What we're looking for
Formal qualification in CNC Machining (Cert III in Engineering Mechanical Trade - Fitting and Machining)
Extensive experience (minimum 3 years) operating and programming CNC machines such as lathes, mills, and machining centres
Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Good communication and problem-solving skills
