Chef – Join a Unique and Vibrant Cafe Environment
Brisbane Motor Museum | Casual Position
About the Opportunity
We’re looking for a talented and experienced Chef to join the team at the Brisbane Motor Museum Cafe — a stylish and modern cafe set within one of Brisbane’s most exciting new venues.
The Brisbane Motor Museum is a purpose-built, architecturally designed destination showcasing a rotating display of vehicles and exhibits that change regularly throughout the year. Alongside the museum, our cafe delivers high-quality food and service to guests from all walks of life — from motoring enthusiasts to casual diners and private event guests. We take pride in presentation, quality, and creating a warm and professional atmosphere.
This casual role offers 2–4 days of consistent work each week, making it ideal for someone seeking reliable, ongoing shifts within a supportive and well-run environment.
If you’re passionate about great food and enjoy working in a well-equipped kitchen as part of a collaborative team, we’d love to hear from you. You'll have the chance to contribute to a quality-focused menu and occasionally support unique events hosted at the Museum.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a valued member of our cafe team, you’ll be involved in preparing and plating meals to a high standard, ensuring every dish reflects quality and attention to detail. During service, you’ll work alongside the cafe team to help maintain an efficient and collaborative kitchen environment.
You’ll also take responsibility for maintaining food safety compliance and hygiene standards, while ensuring the cafe and kitchen remain clean, organised, and visually presentable. Safety is always a priority, and your proactive approach will help ensure a secure and professional workspace. You’ll also assist with the scheduling and coordination of events and activities at the museum, offering added variety to your day-to-day work.
There may also be opportunities to contribute ideas to menu development and be involved in catering for private and museum-run events.
What We’re Looking For
Solid experience in food preparation and kitchen service
Current Food Handling Certificate
A strong focus on quality, consistency, and presentation
Valid driver’s licence
High attention to detail and personal pride in your work
Positive, reliable, and proactive mindset
Willingness to learn and grow in the role
Capable of working both independently and collaboratively
Able to adapt and think on your feet in a changing environment
Unrestricted work rights in Australia
Why You’ll Love Working With Us
Daytime hours with a mix of weekday and weekend shifts
Consistent roster with 2–4 days per week
Opportunities to be part of event catering and menu development
Supportive, small team culture
Genuine work-life balance
Free onsite parking
Above-award pay and recognition
Brand new, high-spec kitchen with quality equipment
Convenient location with easy public and private transport access
Diverse, interesting work across cafe service and events
Room to grow and develop with future opportunities
