This is a full-time Senior Baker role at a family-owned bakery in Launceston, Tasmania. As the Senior Baker, you will be responsible for producing the full range of high-quality pastries and patisserie products to support the bakery's operations and meet customer demand. This is a 5 day a week role with early morning hours.

What you'll be doing

Preparing and baking pies, pasties, slices, cakes and other baked goods to the bakery's recipes and quality standards

Displaying an excellent understanding of baking techniques, ingredients and equipment

Demonstrating skill in making, cutting and shaping pastry along with care in baking, de-panning and displaying pastry goods for sale

Developing and refining recipes to create innovative and delicious baked goods and fillings

Ensuring all baked products are consistently high-quality, visually appealing and delivered to the sales counter on time

Overseeing the daily operations of the bakery, ensuring efficient production and quality control

Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient work environment in the bakery

Ensuring bakery equipment is well-maintained (pie warmers, ovens, refrigerators, dough sheeter, etc), liaising with contractors as required

Supervising other production bakers and staff

Assisting with stock control, ordering raw materials and inventory management

Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations

What we're looking for

Previous experience as a Baker or Pastry Chef, supervision of qualified staff and experience managing a retail bakery

High level skills and a keen eye for detail to produce visually appealing and consistently high-quality baked goods

Good time management and organisational abilities to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused approach

Passion for baking and a commitment to delivering exceptional products
