About the role
Reporting to the Head of People Services, this role manages end to end payroll operations across RACGP and JCTS, ensuring compliance, accuracy and system optimisation. Leading a team, you’ll partner with internal and external stakeholders and support strategic goals.

As our Payroll Manager, you'll also:

• lead the payroll function across multiple entities, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant operations aligned with legislative and enterprise agreement requirements.
• maintain and enhance payroll systems (e.g., iChris), ensure robust documentation and contingencies, and apply lean methodologies to drive continuous improvement and future readiness.
• champion a service-oriented approach, manage escalated payroll matters, build strong internal and external partnerships, and contribute to cross-functional initiatives that enhance employee experience.
• ensure strong internal controls, lead audits, monitor legislative changes, provide insightful reporting and analysis, and contribute to strategic planning through compelling business cases and research.

Skills & Experience

• Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or Business; strong knowledge of employment legislation, taxation, and superannuation; experience with iChris and contemporary HR functions.
• Proven ability to lead a team to drive continuous improvement, and consistently exceptional payroll processes and outcomes.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills to consult across diverse stakeholders; demonstrated stakeholder management experience within complex operational structures.
• Ability to work autonomously under pressure, manage competing deadlines, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
