- Salary range: $138,909 - $162,060 plus super
- Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model
About the role
In this newly created role, you will be working with VLA staff, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), and other key stakeholders to plan, support, and lead efforts which support VLA's work towards First Nations Data Sovereignty and Governance.
You will also be responsible for leading work within Outcomes and Evidence (a First Nations-led unit) to embed First Nations perspectives and principles of self-determination into processes and outputs.
This is a special measures role and only First Nations people are eligible to apply, as per the Equal Opportunity Act 2010.
This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of cultural norms in working with First Nations communities (mandatory).
- Lived experience working with First Nations people and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, including an understanding of the communication styles and complex issues experienced by First Nations communities.
- Demonstrated experience leading policy development and/or project management experience.
- Highly developed interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, and a demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate with people from all levels and develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
