Job Description:
Prepare, interpret, and review contract documentation for the procurement of flooring products and accessories, ensuring terms are commercially sound and legally compliant.
Negotiate contract terms and conditions with local and international suppliers, subcontractors, and logistics providers to support the company’s operational and commercial objectives.
Advise internal stakeholders (sales, procurement, logistics, and management) on contractual rights, obligations, and associated risks to ensure informed decision-making.
Liaise with suppliers and partners to monitor contract performance and ensure all parties adhere to agreed timelines, quality standards, and delivery requirements.
Ensure contract compliance with relevant legislation, environmental standards, and company policies across all business transactions.
Maintain accurate records and registers of active contracts, amendments, renewals, and contract related correspondence for audit and reporting purposes.
Prepare reports and summaries for management on contract status, performance metrics, and key deadlines, and recommend action where variations or disputes arise.
Assist in managing contract variations and disputes, including drafting variation notices, maintaining clear documentation, and liaising with relevant parties to facilitate resolution in a timely and professional manner.
Support continuous improvement of contract management processes by reviewing existing procedures, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing best practices to enhance compliance, cost-effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
Qualification and skills requirement:
A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in a closely related field.
At least two years of relevant full-time experience in contract administration or commercial procurement.
Proven ability to interpret and manage contracts, liaise effectively with suppliers and stakeholders, and ensure compliance with commercial and legal obligations.
Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement procedures, and commercial risk management principles.
Experience with contract negotiation, managing contract variations, supplier performance monitoring, and dispute resolution.
Excellent bilingual communication skills in English and Chinese, both verbal and written, enabling effective collaboration with internal teams and clients.
Prior experience in the construction materials, building supply, or wholesale distribution industries is highly desirable.
Familiarity with Australian standards and industry practices related to flooring and building materials supply, including environmental and safety compliance.
Proficiency in contract management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other business documentation tools.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, capable of maintaining accurate contract records and preparing reports.
Ability to work independently, showing initiative in identifying contractual risks, process improvements, and compliance gaps.
