Position Overview
We’re looking for a dynamic Events & Network Officer to help us deliver engaging, accessible, and high-quality events, both in person and online. You’ll play a key role in coordinating MAV’s diverse calendar of events and supporting our professional networks, while helping us grow our digital capability and audience reach.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on variety, values collaboration, and is passionate about creating seamless and inclusive experiences for our members and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver a range of events including workshops, webinars, forums, and conferences.
Coordinate logistics such as speaker support, venue liaison, run sheets, and scheduling.
Produce online events using platforms like Zoom and MS Teams, including live streaming, breakout rooms, and post-event editing.
Support MAV’s peer networks, helping to foster strong engagement and professional learning.
Promote events in collaboration with our Communications Team through EDMs, flyers, and digital content.
Evaluate success through feedback surveys and data insights to drive continuous improvement.
Champion digital innovation, accessibility, and interactivity in our event delivery.

This role is located at 1 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne, adjacent to Parliament Gardens. We offer a welcoming, healthy, and inclusive workplace and a hybrid model of working from the office and working from home.
What You’ll Bring
Experience coordinating events (online and in-person) or professional engagement activities.
Strong skills in online event production and virtual platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.).
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Confidence using digital tools like Mailchimp, MS Office, and CRM systems.
A service-oriented mindset and a passion for creating inclusive experiences.
In addition, we welcome candidates with:
Experience in the public sector, peak bodies, or membership-based organisations.
Skills in graphic design, AV editing, or content creation.
Knowledge of accessibility principles and local government.
