About the Role
As an Administrative Support Officer within the Estate Team at Government House Sydney, you'll be at the heart of a place where history, ceremony, and public engagement intersect. This is more than just an administrative role, it's a chance to be part of something truly special.
In this position, you'll manage a wide range of front-of-house and behind-the-scenes responsibilities, from reception and daily administration to supporting our valued pool of casual guides. You'll be a trusted presence in the team, helping ensure that every visitor experience and operational detail runs smoothly.

Government House Sydney
Government House Sydney, the residence and the seat of administration of the Governor of New South Wales - the oldest statutory office in Australia - is staffed by employees of the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet. The team at Government House Sydney supports the Governor in the conduct of constitutional, ceremonial and community duties.
Collectively, the five functional areas (Protocol, Household, Estate Management, Communications and Secretariat) ensure that every aspect of the Governor's and spouse's programs of official engagements and engagement with the community are appropriately coordinated, managed and planned; that the official residence is suitably maintained; that the administrative arm of the organisation operates in accordance with relevant policies and guidelines; and that the heritage buildings, contents and grounds are managed and presented to the highest standard.

We're Looking For
- Administrative and Organisational Skills: Demonstrated strong organisational abilities managing competing priorities and ensuring smooth daily operations including reception duties, schedule coordination and daily operations
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Confidence in communicating with people from diverse backgrounds, including high profile individuals
- Adaptability and Problem Solving: Demonstrated experience in resolving issues in a dynamic and unpredictable environment that is fast paced with varied tasks
- Teamwork and Reliability: Experience working in a collaborative and supportive team utilising discretion when handling sensitive information
- Customer Service and Visitor Experience: Ability to represent Government House with grace and attentiveness, especially when in a public facing role
