Our Community Wellbeing team is dedicated to improving outcomes for children and families, especially those from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and refugee backgrounds.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a passionate and organised Project Officer – CALD Outreach Initiative to help deliver projects that empower CALD and refugee/asylum seeker families to access early childhood education and care services. In this role, you’ll support the CALD Policy Officer and the wider Community Wellbeing team in coordinating professional supports, training, and capacity-building initiatives for council outreach staff.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of the CALD Outreach Initiative - Professional Supports project, while contributing to broader early years reform efforts across Victoria.
Key Responsibilities
Provide project management and administrative support to deliver CALD-focused initiatives.
Assist in the development of resources, communications, networks, and events.
Support councils in implementing professional supports for CALD Outreach staff.
Build and maintain strong relationships with sector stakeholders, peaks, and the Victorian Department of Education.
Contribute to broader Community Wellbeing Business Unit activities and initiatives.

This role is located at 1 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne, adjacent to Parliament Gardens. We offer a welcoming, healthy, and inclusive workplace and a hybrid model of working from the office and working from home.
