Your Team’s Purpose
The Organisational Development Team’s primary focus is to assist IUIH meet its strategic objective of growing and supporting a skilled and enabled workforce in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. With IUIH experiencing significant workforce growth over the decade the focus is on development, management and implementation of frameworks and programs to: increase Indigenous workforce participation, build required workforce capability through training and development opportunities, build workforce pathways, and create and nurture an innovative, inclusive, reflective and respectful environment built on Aboriginal Ways.
About the Role?
The purpose of this position is to support the success of workforce transition mentors across the IUIH Network. This role plays a key part in preparing and supporting school-based and full-time trainees, as well as existing staff, for successful work transitions and career development including leadership roles. Within this role, you will be required to:
- Liaise between key IUIH regional workforce teams and initiatives to ensure workforce transition mentors have access to materials, understand processes and deliver on subcontracted requirements.
- Coordinate and oversee workforce transition mentors to:
o Support IUIH Network staff in accessing and participating in the Propa Ways and leadership programs.
o Collaborate with Managers to build their capacity to support staff through work transitions.
o Work closely with the Pathways Our Way Academy (POWA) team to support trainee engagement and fulfilment of traineeship requirements.
o Partner with the Careers Our Way team to assist with planning and preparing staff for ongoing employment or new roles.
o Partner with the Careers Our Way team to provide post-placement support to ensure job retention and career progression. - Identify and address gaps in workforce readiness materials and contribute to the development of new resources
- Deliver workshops and contribute to the trial of transition support resources.
About You?
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply
- Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
- Current Criminal History Check
- Current Working with Children Clearence (QLD Blue Card) OR AHPRA Registration if relevant
- Demonstrated experience in workforce development, mentoring, or coaching.
- Strong understanding of the cultural values and needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams and locations.
Desirable, but not mandatory
- Ability to work sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, their leaders and health professionals, while respecting traditional culture, values, and ways of doing business.
