👥 HR / WHS Advisor – QLD Operations

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a proactive HR / WHS Advisor to support our Queensland operations. Based on the Gold Coast, this role will manage human resources and workplace health & safety requirements for our QLD team, with regular travel to our Townsville branch.

You’ll work closely with management, site supervisors, and trades staff to ensure our people practices and safety systems are compliant, consistent, and effective.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources

Support end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and inductions for QLD employees

Provide advice on employee relations, performance, and HR policy matters

Coordinate training and professional development programs

Maintain HR documentation in line with legislative requirements

Workplace Health & Safety

Ensure WHS compliance across QLD sites and offices

Conduct site visits, audits, inspections, and risk assessments (Gold Coast & Townsville)

Maintain and update WHS management systems and registers

Facilitate toolbox talks, incident investigations, and return-to-work programs

Promote continuous improvement in safety awareness and practices

What We’re Looking For

Experience in HR, WHS, or a combined HR/WHS role (construction, trades, or maintenance experience highly regarded)

Strong knowledge of Fair Work legislation and WHS regulations in QLD

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with all staff levels

High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

Ability to work independently and travel between QLD sites as required

Cert IV or Diploma in HR or WHS (desirable but not essential if experienced)

Willingness to undergo a Police Check and obtain a QLD Blue Card
