Systems Engineer - Hybrid Cloud & Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Systems Engineer to join a dedicated team focused on delivering exceptional IT services and driving innovation. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your deep technical expertise to design, develop, deliver, and manage solutions across a hybrid (cloud and internal) environment. You will be instrumental in ensuring the availability, performance, functionality, security, integrity, and integration of critical cloud and internal services.

What you'll bring:

Extensive Experience: A minimum of 10 years in the IT industry, with 3-5 years specifically in a similar Systems Engineer role.

Tertiary Qualification in Information Technology or substantial equivalent industry experience.

Service Management Acumen: Formal qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in IT Service Management (ITIL).

Hybrid Cloud Mastery: Expert knowledge in cloud services (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Office 365, SharePoint, Teams) and on-premise infrastructure.

Windows Domain Expertise: Proficient with Microsoft Exchange, DNS, DHCP, DFS, ADDS, GPO, Certificate Services, and Active Directory Services.

Data Protection Pro: Experience with enterprise data protection technologies (e.g., Dell PowerProtect Data Manager, DataDomain).

Scripting Prowess: Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bicep, Azure Infrastructure as Code).

Virtualisation Veteran: Skilled in server & desktop virtualisation (e.g., VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V).

Networking Ninja: Solid understanding of networking technologies (e.g., Cisco, WAN, Azure Virtual Networks) and Application Delivery Controllers (e.g., F5, Azure Application Gateway).

Security Savvy: Expertise in enterprise security-related technologies (e.g., Palo Alto, Azure Network Security Groups).

Problem Solver: Strong conceptual, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills, particularly in a strategic and business value context.

Agile Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with competing demands.

Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional interpersonal, consultation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.

Safety Champion: A commitment to role modelling a positive safety culture and adherence to WHS Management Systems.

Current Queensland 'C' Class Drivers Licence.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Providing strong technical expertise for the design, delivery, and maintenance of cloud and internal services.

Leading major incident management responses to ensure service availability and performance.

Providing expert input on change management, incident resolution, infrastructure planning, and security management.

Advising on and implementing Disaster Recovery processes for hybrid environments.

Developing and supporting interfaces and integrations between cloud and on-premise solutions.

Maintaining a strong intellectual curiosity in emergent technologies and industry trends.
