About the Role
We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Events Officer to join our dynamic Events team. This role is responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of a wide range of community, and major events across Kalgoorlie-Boulder, including Pixar Putt, KidsFest, Multicultural Festival, Sunset Concerts, Christmas Street Party and more!
The successful applicant will need to hit the ground running managing the end-to-end delivery of events while ensuring safety, compliance, and community engagement. This is a hands-on role that requires leadership, initiative, creativity, and a commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, coordinate and deliver high-quality council events from concept to completion.
• Align with budgets, meet timelines, work with contractors, suppliers, and manage logistics and operations.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, community groups and clients.
• Ensure all events meet health, safety and risk management requirements.
• Lead onsite event operations including set up, pack down, and troubleshooting.
• Supervise event casual staff and event volunteers where required
• Prepare event reports, evaluations, and continuous improvement strategies

About You

You will need to have:
✅ Proven experience in end-to-end event management (council or public events preferred)
✅ Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines
✅ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
✅ Knowledge of WHS and risk management in event delivery
✅ Flexibility to work outside of standard hours—including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
✅ A can-do attitude, attention to detail and a genuine passion for creating memorable community experiences
