Be part of a purpose-led organisation with care at its core. You’ll make a difference by acting in the best interests of our communities and city. Be better together with collaborative and inclusive partnerships. Embrace possibilities and be open to new ideas and creating bold solutions.

About the role

The Resilient Sydney Office is looking for a skilled and driven strategy and engagement professional to lead its small team in delivering the new Resilient Sydney Strategy. The strategy supports Sydney’s communities, businesses and systems to survive, adapt and thrive, no matter what challenges come their way.

In this role, you’ll:

work with councils, government, industry and the community to bring the strategy to life

inspire and influence a wide range of stakeholders to put resilience thinking into practice

oversee the Resilient Sydney data platform and other tools that support the work

provide expert advice and secure funding for key initiatives

be the main voice for Sydney’s resilience efforts in national and global forums

lead the Resilient Sydney Office and manage governance, reporting, people and partnerships

We're looking for someone who:

has a degree in risk, environmental science, management, engagement or communications

brings over 10 years' experience in a senior role, ideally across government or community sectors

is a confident leader with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

understands the big social, environmental and economic issues facing Sydney

knows how to develop and deliver complex strategies, programs and partnerships

thinks strategically, works collaboratively and leads with purpose

This is a unique opportunity to shape a more resilient Sydney and work with passionate people who care about the city’s future. You’ll be part of a respected, collaborative program making a real difference across Greater Sydney.
