Harrup Park and the Great Barrier Reef Arena are seeking a hands-on, proactive, and experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance and asset management of our diverse precinct. This role is critical in ensuring our high-profile facilities operate at the highest standards for our members, guests, players, and event patrons.
About Us
Harrup Park is one of North Queensland’s leading hospitality venues, featuring a bars, bistro, cafe, gaming lounge, and functions spaces. Adjacent to the club is the internationally broadcast-ready Great Barrier Reef Arena home to elite cricket, AFL, and major community events. Together, these venues form a dynamic and fast-paced precinct, undergoing continual improvement and expansion.
The Role
As Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of maintenance operations across both the club and arena facilities. You’ll manage preventative and reactive maintenance schedules, coordinate contractors, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and help maintain the appearance and performance of our facilities to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and execute preventative and reactive maintenance programs
Manage contractors and service providers to ensure timely and quality work
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety and regulatory requirements
Support venue readiness for major events and high-traffic periods
Maintain asset registers and contribute to long-term maintenance planning
Perform general maintenance and hands-on repair work across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and grounds as needed
Assist in capital project works and refurbishments
About You
Previous experience in a similar role across hospitality, sports, or commercial facilities
Trade background or project management background highly regarded (e.g., electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or similar)
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do attitude
Ability to manage contractors and liaise with external stakeholders
Sound knowledge of WHS standards and facility compliance
Ability to work flexible hours during event periods when required
Excellent communication, organisational and time-management skills
