Central Tablelands Water is a single-purpose County Council providing potable water to over 15,000 customers across 13 towns and villages. We supply potable water for residential, industrial, and rural use across an area spanning approximately 14,000 sq/km.

Central Tablelands Water is now recruiting for the newly created position of Technical Officer. The position reports to the Engineering Coordinator and is responsible for assisting with the technical overview of the water infrastructure across Central Tablelands Water service area, ensuring asset management and future infrastructure is appropriately considered.

The position is an office-based position located in Blayney NSW.

Your key responsibilities will include

Maintain assets management system and process workflows for all assets.

Maintain and update data in the Metrix and Pozi systems, update survey/drawings, etc.

Liaise with finance staff to provide Special Schedule 7 updates.

Develop reports for Asset Management Plan using Metrix platform.

Assist to develop, maintain, and improve the framework for Scada, Telemetry, and other systems across CTW.

Contribute to continuous strategic improvement within the technical area.

Assist with project design, development, and delivery.

Undertake quotes for Section 64, connection, and main extensions.

Provide technical advice to Operational and Customer Service staff

Assist to monitor, review, and maintain the Renewable Energy Action Plan.

Assist with Dam Safety plans and reporting requirements.

Essential Criteria

Class C Driver’s licence with a safe driving record.

Well-developed computer skills in the use of Microsoft Office products, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and other corporate software programs particularly in relation to assets and projects.

Well-developed communication and reporting skills, with attention to detail, use initiative, focus on results, and meet predetermined targets.

Demonstrated analytical skills, research, problem solving and commercial business acumen.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence people, build effective relationships, and achieve positive outcomes including the ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional conduct.

An ability to understand financial data and engage with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives.

Willingness to work flexible hours to complete the requirements of the position.

Ability to assist with preparing complex reports and returns for Council and Government Authorities.

An attractive salary negotiated with the successful candidate between $70179 to $84917 gross per annum depending on skills and local government experience.
