We are seeking an experienced and skilled Fitter mechanic to join our team at Ashi Hire Pty Ltd in our Port Melbourne, VIC location. This full-time role will have you providing on-site maintenance and repair services for our diverse fleet of equipment and machinery.

What you'll be doing

•Diagnosing and testing equipment and instruments

•Adjusting and repairing equipment and replacing worn and defective parts

•Re-assembling, testing, operating and adjusting customer equipment

•Calibrating equipment according to technical manuals and written instructions

•Performing troubleshooting and maintenance necessary to ensure equipment and instruments operate at their peak efficiency

•Maintain all plant and equipment in field and workshop

•Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on a range of equipment

•Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in the field & workshop.

•Maintain detailed records of all service and repair work undertaken

•Provide timely and effective customer service to clients

•Assist with the delivery and pick-up of equipment as needed

•Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with company policies and procedures

What we're looking for

•Demonstrated high level initiative and strong organizational skills

•Well developed interpersonal and communication skills, including strong written and efficiently meeting strict timeframes

•Demonstrated ability to identify and provide solutions to a range of plant and equipment issues

•Formal qualifications in automotive or mechanical engineering, or related trade certification

•1 year of relevant experience in a related role as a machines fitter

•Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
